HIIT – HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING

HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. A high-intensity workout increases the body’s need for oxygen during the effort and creates an oxygen shortage, causing your body to ask for more oxygen during recovery. This afterburn effect is referred to as excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) and is the reason why intense exercise will help burn more fat and calories than regular aerobic and steady-state workouts.

BOXCAMP

Boxcamp classes are offered outside of Sensei’s normal membership structure and are taken by Mike Hall. These classes incorporate all the best elements of a bootcamp and boxercise workout. They are appropriate for all levels as you work to your own ability in a fun and engaging group environment. These classes run all year round between indoor (Winter months) and outdoor sessions (During the summer months) and you should expect a great work out that will build fitness, strength, speed and endurance.

YOGA

Yoga is also available at Sensei through Greenwell Yoga studios (Linda Dixon). These yoga classes are priced outside of Sensei’s normal membership structure. Yoga is a system of exercise to improve flexibility and reduce stress, it is said to have originated between 5000 – 10,000 years ago in India. Although there are many variations of yoga, they all share the same core values and promote union of the self and spirit. Yoga is more than just simply exercise and for many it is a philosophy and a way of life.

The goal of yoga is to promote wellbeing, flexibility and reduce stress.

Yoga is for you if:

You have tight / sore muscles

PERSONAL / SMALL GROUP TRAINING

If you’re looking to improve your sporting performance, lose weight or simply want to learn new techniques I am also available for one to one or small group training. This can be an extension of a Physiotherapy treatment if you have been seen in clinic for an injury, or simply to help you meet your goals. We offer:

Personal training is from a fully qualified Physiotherapist who holds a Martial arts blackbelt and has over 15 years of boxing and martial arts experience.
